Lazy Weekend

What a wonderfully lazy weekend we have had! For the first time, in what feels like months, we had no plans at all for the whole weekend. With the wet, cold and rainy weather we took advantage of our lack of commitments and have watched movies, played games and even went out for lunch at the Ranch where on Sundays there is free face painting for the kids!

We also put our gumboots and raincoats to good use with some puddle jumping! Harris is a big fan of Mummy's new gumboots and thinks it's pretty fun to 'wear' them around the house!

Hope you all had a happy weekend too xxx

Milla's new dress made by me!

Check it out - the dress worked!
I came across a pattern for a Tiered Patchwork Twirler Dress that claimed to be very easy and decided it was a great one to be able to use up some of my fabric 'off cuts' from my bunting. I started the dress earlier last week and with a quiet house the other night and no bunting to be sewn I decided to finished it off.
I am so excited that it all came together as I have never made an item of clothing before - I was surprised at just how simple it was. I'm thinking our 5 little nieces just might be getting one of these dresses each for Christmas!

As soon as Milla woke up she spotted the dress on my sewing table and out came her catch cry at the moment: "What's that??" before I knew it she had it on (with a long sleeved shirt underneath as it's rather cold here these days) and she was twirling around the backyard in no time at all!
